The relef when I started using it was instant went from bearly being able to walk to being able to manage the pain of spd. It will not take away the pain altogether but it does help. Only downside is that after a while the velcro does curl up and makes it a but uncomfortable to wear under your clothes. But works just as well over the top of clothes so not the end of the world.
